People sometimes say what's wrong with the present system of distribution?
Isn't it work just fine? Well, I don't think it's fine at all unless you're a big corporation like the ones who own the box stores like Home Depot, Staples, Future Shop, Best Buy, Walmart etc. What does the middle class get there, but a low paying job. Big deal.
In Ontario, Canada, it's difficult to tell towns apart because they have all the same Big Box Stores, all the smaller franchise operations and basically the same food stores . Same gas stations. Same Fast Food restaurants. You have to be an old timer to ask what happened to the local butcher, baker, shoe repair shop and family owned restaurant?I believe France and Japan are the only industrialized countries which have resisted this trend by imposing size limitations on stores to preserve small business. India is still full of local business owners but I have heard that things could be about to change.I believe the current crisis in global warming is actually a failure of the unfettered capitalistic system. Failure to consider the health of the Planet is a mighty big oversight in any economic plan.
Check out the movie "The Corporation" on Google and also the clip from the movie "The American Ruling Class" Both are very disturbing because both show that there are powers at work in our daily lives that we know absolutely nothing about. Only trouble is they have a huge impact on how we live our life. So my question is always, "what's so great about the existing economic system? What's it done for you lately? Or what has it ever done for you?Ask the people who've lost their homes due to the sub prime mortgage fiasco or gone bankrupt from health care expenses, what they think of the present economic order.
We we cannot be suppressed forever. Like Barrick Obama says "we have hope" It keeps us going. It keeps me going. This type of personal business ownership that we promote is basically the only vehicle left for the common man or woman to really make it big in his or her own business. Sure it's not perfect but it's the best we have. It's our only hope. Are there shrysters and crooks in it? Yes. You will find them in any form of business, anywhere in the world. That's why you have to study and find out as much as you can about any venture you get into. Be diligent.
